Another old French village still showing the effects of war - Pont du Loup

These pictures show what this bridge looked like before the war.   The Germans bombed this railway bridge to stop a supply route.   Today the pillars remain in this small village.   One of our Young Single Adults lives here and it is a fun place to visit.   Of course it helps that it is the home of the Florian Candy factory.   It is about an hour away from Nice.

Candy made from flowers

Candied mandrins -   Soaked in a sugar brine 3 minutes a day for 45 days. (no wonder it is so expensive)

My camera battery ran out before I got to the great stuff.   Believe me it looks good and it tastes better.

  1. I'm amazed that they haven't torn down those big supports for the bridge! What a fun little trip!
